Blueberry harvest at a glance
The first third of the Argentine harvest features an adequate and favorable compliance of the chill hours in the different productive areas.

20/10/2016 | This scenario added to the regular evolution of temperatures in each productive region determined a tiered and adequate distribution per productive zone. In addition, alternation with cool nights favored a normal physiological evolution of the reproductive phase characterizing the flavor of the main varieties.

Led by Tucuman in the Argentine North West, followed by Bella Vista in the Argentine North East, Concordia in the East and at least Buenos Aires, this third of the crop was adequately stepped. Even the participation of growing volumes of extra early varieties such as Snowchaser in Concordia did not modify this distribution.

Until week 41, the volume exported by Argentina was 5,500 tons. Although that figure exceeded the pre-season report estimations, it is forecasted that during week 42 the volume will grow less than expected due to the reduction of harvest days.

Therefore, and according to the weather perspectives, it is estimated that the peak of Argentine production will be during weeks 44-45 reaching, so far, a final total exported volume similar to the projected one.
